Why penetration is the key question
The legitimate scientific debate around mineral treatments isn't whether the minerals have beneficial properties — that's well established. The question is whether they penetrate the skin and hair shaft deeply enough to do anything meaningful.
Studies by Shani and colleagues (1985) detected Dead Sea minerals including magnesium, calcium and bromide in skin tissue following mineral bath application — confirming that ionic penetration does occur. A 2023 study published in MDPI Cosmetics found Dead Sea water improved hydration and skin barrier recovery with long-term benefits.
Why all 26 — not a curated selection
The minerals of the Dead Sea function as a system. Magnesium's ability to support keratin synthesis is enhanced by calcium's role in cell membrane function. Zinc's scalp-regulating properties complement bromide's anti-inflammatory effect.
